Cholesterol And Heart Diseases

Different types of cholesterol in our body are called LIPIDS. There is good (HDL) and bad (LDL) cholesterol in our body. Bad cholesterol either excess or bad in quality may get deposited (plaque formation) in the blood vessels of heart (coronary arteries) and gives the person Angina or Heart Attacks.
Balance diet (Low in saturated fatty acids) & exercise may reduce the bad cholesterol. On other hand lack of exercise, diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure and/or obesity may initiate bad cholesterol deposits in the coronary arteries even their level is no high in blood. Medications such as statins etc can further assist in decreasing blood cholesterol level and decrease plaque formation preventing heart attacks (angina and myocardial infarction)
